Hello! The idea is to create a cave-like throne hall (more a retreat) for a creature which could be worshipped as god among human. Inspiration for design will be north and south american indian culture (Aztec, Maya, etc.) Firts sketches come later.
it was a fair while back, a 3rd person rpg who's selling point was it took the piss out of rpgs made references to creatures dropping gold and other nonsensical items, heavily stereotyped characters and stuff like that i think it bombed in the charts ringing any bells?
I'm reading the latest issue of Game Developer and there's an article about Deadly Creatures. http://gamedeveloper.texterity.com/gamedeveloper/200905/?sub_id=CaWERAuv3UCqI A whole chapter talks about something called "gray-boxing". Can anyone please explain what this means? Google tells me nothing. thanks!
Hi everybody, This is my second school work, an unreal tournament creature. I hope to have your advise, cause i want to improve myself for next works. thanks and enjoy. see you next time (edit: thanks for the full screen link.)
The first thing that sticks out is the inconsistency of the legs. They are all sorts of thicknesses. Secondly, if you are going for a stylized scene then the creature needs to be characterized in some way. Other than the skull face, the shape seems to be pushing the realism really hard.
Update from last night. Forgot to post argh.w Yeah I'm moving at a mind numbing slow pace right now , animals and non-bipedal creatures aren't my comfort zone so I'm rather wonky with these things.
I might do just that at a later date, more and more people are suggesting it. For now I'm trying to develop more aspects of it (and also trying to figure out a simple animated intro scene). Here's the first creature concept for DT:
Nice way to put it :) thanks a lot for the help. Ill definitely draw some apples and what not:P Any good way to get ideas and such? like character designs and creatures and environments and all that? Or does that just come from experience?
Fish tail, dragon scales, bird wings, qilin face and elephant trunk + tusks, im an asian myself and i never heard of this creature before xD, anyway it looks pretty great atm, good work, keep it up.
i have the feeling that the yellow stuff takes away a lot of the focus... its hard to tell where your creature starts or ends, also the background black seems so dark the contrast yellow black does steal the show
