Sorry for the lack of updates. We've hit a snag, We where writing the schedule and asset list and came to the conclusion that this is too over scoped, we won't pull it off in 2 months. So we are in the process of down scaling the idea, hopefully we will have some blockouts / thumbnails tonight.
Hey Scott, glad to see your latest concept goes back to the more interesting looking throne, definitely go with that as it made the image feel a bit more dynamic! Just be careful you don't do what I tend to do and go too detailed on your blockout models :)
Usually what i do and find it better to do is make a blockout with very basic geo like cages nad cylinders to block stuff out. Then i do a detail pass on all that and continue working the proportions, then i hp them, copy my hp and start low polying it.
some HD shots :) the humvee is just a blockout, still gonna model a better version of it. still think the scene could get some more texture love, what do you guys think? some feedback would be great, as i want to include this scene in my folio :D
Nice design  ! I like your process, especially the way you blockout the hands. It could be perfect for positionning them with the transpose tool and use the cylinders where there are articulations like a little rigg system. May I use your technique for the hands too ? ^^ Good anatomy by the way.
Yeah my concept is mostly in my head. I have not drawn it out on paper because I really suck at drawing (I will be taking courses this fall). I will be using the set pieces to make a basic blockout, and then I will be adding more details into places that I think need them.
Here's a small update let me know what you guys think, ill be adding vegetation later on just wanted to make a simple blockout. I also just got unreal 4 so im excited to learn the new engine. Feel free to leave any crits
I like how in-depth you go with showing the workflow and the project looks cool. About the wireframe models you showed, they seem poorly optimized, is that because theyre just blockouts and will be fixed later or for some other reason? (tiling textures or similar) Looking forward to seeing more
Working on recreating this great concept by Tim Kaminski https://www.artstation.com/artwork/GX3yg1 Going to be a completely hand painted project. Hey all, really love the artwork for Wildstar so thought I'd have a go at some fanart for it :) Started on a blockout yesterday evening, I'm not following the concept below 100% as I've got several shots of the artwork and in-game screenshots, so decided to mix up some ideas. Sculpt is still very 'blobby' and got a ton to…
