Been away from this project for a while due to some overtime at work, but was able to slowly get a few things in. Here's the gist of the update: Basically added textures to the architecture, and made a few props for decoration on the walls. Most of it is quick and dirty just to get the main shapes and colours in (most of…
@wirrexx thanks for the critique I have a few different light sources coming from different directions so they might be canceling out most of their shadow I'll keep that in mind next time perhaps I have on of my lights unchecked on cast shadows I'll have to have a look thanks. @Benvox2 thanks, it's all static lighting I've…
It's kind of hard to read these pictures in my opinion. I think ambient lighting, reflections, etc and preferably more than one light in the scene, plus a neutral / dark background, would help a lot. It looks like you have some good details in the texture. It might be a good idea to turn them off temporarily and just use…
Hello , i am a beginner and i need feedback on lightning and texturing i did in this scene from http://www.3drender.com/challenges/index.htm . its lightning challenge #1 Fruit bowl . I did iterations to the best of my current artistic eye . Feedback will be appreciated . Here are the renders . Texturing done in substance…
If they got the same sensor this might be true. Also, that test is made in daylight simulation. Ie. ISO 200 and perfect lighting. There could be differences when lightning conditions are less than perfect and a higher ISO number is needed. I compared my D60 with a friend's D90. The D90 was capable of taking higher iso's…
You are absolutely right KN5743, thanks for pointing that out. I went back and attempted a different type of chair leg that looks much more structurally sound. I also went and sculpted the flag and the low polys for both these assets are on the way along with the UVs. I also tweaked the lighting a bit more in the scene…
Hello, I would like to create a "heat lightning" effect in UDK (lightning that only goes from cloud to cloud with no sound). What is the easiest way to accomplish this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
First off: Cool scene to work on.. DA + Awakenings were great! It's very early work but I'll list everything that comes to mind right now, some of these you will probably have seen yourself already. -If you're going to make static flags then model in a slight bend or crookedness because perfectly flat banners look too…
Heya, i use 3ds max for my baking, and i think the edge padding might be one of the issues im having with the normal lighting pass: [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhijZHe1QEA"]chaos_test_scene2 - YouTube[/ame] Someone mentioned shading groups might be my problem, and im using UVW lightmap co-ords from my base…
My first thought it that a lot of the assets look way too clean to be in an alley. Some seem perfectly grimy but other like the light poles seem brand new. Certain assets like the dumpsters, the box, and the pipes all seem pretty well-used. I especially like the texture you made for the box, very nice. I'd suggest…
