It was good to meet you guys! I wish I had had more time to talk with some of the polycounters I met only met briefly, but its always hard to juggle meeting new people with talking to old friends you haven't seen in awhile.
I haven't seen it yet, I'm really excited to go see it. The one part I cringe at, is the talking doberman, I hope its voice isn't like that through the whole movie and if it is, I hope it doesn't do a lot of talking. The rest of it looks amazing.
Thanks for the replies people. I do get more energetic as the game goes on. I get better at talking as I go on. I'm not really used to talking and gaming especially when I'm alone but I'm getting used to it. Plus I'm normally a quiet person.
agreed. Last time I talked to the guys at protodemon they'd found a method to essentially double the resolution of their prints, so we're talking very, very fine detail. Anyway, yeah, great company, can't say enough good things about them. -K.
well im talking pre 3d here..im talking initial Design , what are some good studys/ ideas to look into. if lets say this character is a REAL person but your making it more in the extreme characture of team fortress 2 but that silhouette script is pretty awesome :)
skank, you're probably talking about Ju-on: The Curse which is a terrible made for TV movie with bad lighting. I believe everyone else is talking about Ju-on: The Grudge: http://www.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/ju-on.html ...or maybe I'm wrong, who knows.
Can you tell us what connections you are talking about? Press? Publishers? Fellow developers who you can hire? I mean tickets may be expensive if you live overseas. From what I've heard that the real meat of GDC are panels and talks.
ya but what kinda numbers are you talking about? What kinda hardware is it running on? everything as far as performance goes is relative, and the vert/tricount isn't the only consideration. like the case your talking about, your saving only handful of verts, so there will be no noticeable difference.
That was a really awesome talk :D Some great tips! I was part of a much smaller Q&A panel at Teesside University recently and it is great to see that we were kind of saying the same stuff as the guys at GDC. (Immediately shares link(s) to GDC Talk with my contacts there ^.^ )
This is not old school, old school if we are talking about games would be sprites, if we are talking about 3D then we are in the max 300 tris range (Quake 1 , tomb raider) old school is from the first time it happened, and not the first time you learned about it.
