Nice nice, way to go guys! Decided im just gonna draw whatever floats my boat, cuz thats fun! :D Day 194 Painting for a friend: Kinda liked the cellshading.
A block-out for the inhibitor idea: I'm still debating whether to add chains to the rings behind the floating shields, but part of me tells me it could be too much. What do you think?
Great stuff! I followed your making of the floating island & portal a while back as I love the WoW style and thought you were nailing it, turns out you nailed it good :D
I saw a tutorial a while back where as long as you're keeping it as a 32-bit float and not dropping it to 16 then you can just change the .vrimg extension to .exr when saving - no need to convert.
Unfortunately the lod0 is over the budget for the lod1 :( But yeah, I tried using the blade piece from the lod0 (the blade, skull and handle are all separate floating geo) and even that caused the same issue O.o
well you could use decals/floating geometry the same way it was done for star citizen http://polycount.com/discussion/155894/decal-technique-from-star-citizen http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Decal
actually i just see a position for a environment artist there..... but there may be many different descriptions or the same position floating around... environmant artist, background artist, level artist.... all are mainly the same position...
crossing out a floating rock. Now it makes sense. Wow those early guild wars shots! So awful! I never thought Id see a guild wars screenshot that wasn't pretty!
I found this to be really helpfull too. Nice visual of the hotkey binds. It's slightly out of date, but there's an updated one that isn't as easy to read also floating around. http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Reference.br/Hotkey_Map
Before trying it out myself, can you float detail with an OS normal map like you can with a tangent space, or do I have to model the detail straight in there if I want to have it?
