They are looking pretty cool. I think they read fairly well except for the medical cabinet. You probably don't need the details on the interior, just the dark red for shading. Looking forward to a whole environment made out of these :P
Here's some really nice references: It's an SL8 so some things are slightly different (in fact, almost everything except the furniture is different), but it should be helpful http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=164516325 gunbroker is a wonderful resource
Yeah, our grass in ETQW is not dynamically lit except for some simple sunlighting, it was too expensive to render that much stuff with normalmaps and correct lighting - the visual result of using a much cheaper shader isn't that different in the end, anyway.
I just gave the article a small and fast read through but... is there actually a downside to this except looking like a mutant space monster? "As for the boy, his health is good, but is being monitored by doctors for any changes, especially in his heart."
I went to see it cause all my buddies went and I was bored... About on par with fantastic 4, except with crappier CG and a less cool hero. Dialouge made me want to kill myself at some points.
@ sltrOlsson: Those are some nice tutorials! I did the house kind of the same way (except for the roof). The walls are small parts that are copied, the beams have another texture and they are placed on top of the seams. The textures are diffuse, specular and normal
updates: Unwrapping is going nicely, and easily, because of the shape of the thing. It's mostly (everything except the tyres and the engine cover) just planar mapping from the side or the top. Should hopefully mean some nice easy-to-use UVs.
Im trying to learn to use Tangent normals. I actually did my first test bake for the UMP with tangent space and it looked good except for a few smoothing errors. And the quality of the map looked really bad too.
looks awesome! just like the references u showed me. The dumpster looks the best except id bring up the rust normal more because it looks too smooth and less warn and weathered. Good luck with the job
I'ts looking great,....except for the pointy smooth dome on the back of his neck. Please finish this and release an sdk so everyone can skin it I'm just a slut for the artistic orgies that result from the realease of a good sdk =)
