Pretty much everything Dustinbrown said is spot-on. There are definitely more family oriented studios out there that have a stable 9-6 (10-7) work-day. Akira Animation archive is the best book ive got I think . Also Final Fantasy 9 art book is very nice . Patlabor art books are really good . Ghost in the shell art book is really good . thanks. usually when i can't work a problem i'll let it rest for a while, while trying to figure out another problem i've been having. the SMD problem is something i've been having for several days, first trying to make it work for max 8, then max 9, and then finally got it working in max 7, before there too, it exploded… -

I have it installed as I paid for the upgrade, but that's about it. I'm still using 8.5 for doing stuff with the PIM plugin. 9 doesn't really offer me anything I need. I've moved all of my rigging and animation work over to XSI and our whole DS pipeline is pretty much XSI now, with a few people still using LW for modeling… -

Yeah, 1600:1200 divided by 100 = 16:12 divided by 4 = 4:3 (aspect ratio). Which is standard. If you can divide the first number by 4 and the 2nd number by 3, you should be safe (16:9 for widescreen monitors usually). 1280 divides by 4, 960 divides by 3 ... 1024 does not divide by 3, so it's not a true 4:3 aspect. -

My first headhunted call came last week as I finish up an art internship at a small game company. 9 month contract for Bungie, and I too felt it was a tad shady, dedicating 30-40 hours on an art asset for someone i'd never met over the phone. Screw it, a week later I submitted my asset and it's wait and see time!
