So the combined map in this image pretty much follows Lennyagony's guide. You bake out a Prtn and Prtp map, and desaturate these images. Prtn on bottom with PrtP on top set to screen at 75-85% opacity depending on your needs. Then just the Green channel is copied out of the bent normal baked out. This is set to soft light…
Thanks guys, and thanks @ComradeDispenser for the crits, always helpful. My texturing process in PS is to start with fill layers to get basic material values dialed in. Then add several pattern layers to each material to get texture variation. After that I use images and handpainting for contextual wear and tear. Each…
I asked because with our fx we control overdraw in different ways depending on the effect. Many of our fx (especially firey ones) have shaders that use noise textures and ramp lookups to give a sort of a procedural look, while keeping it down to 1-5 particles. Also keeps our memory usage down, and allows you to re-use…
Mmmm... M4 is looking awesome. You should put a tactical light and maybe a laser on it was well (I prefer the PEQ-15) but she is looking great without. Can't wait to see the bake.
They're probably afraid car manufacturing fakers will use the cheap files to 3d print or laser cut molds to help produce their clones. Heard of the Land Win? Rip off of the Range Rover.
They way you have the teeth and eye done makes it look like it was laser etched and stained with one of the blackest and least reflective materials. It looks weird. Also the blade looks really dull.
Cant seem to get the AO to do what I want but I tried some stuff like darkening it a little and made it less purple. I tried removing the laser effect as well
Hi, really awesome work here. I'm currenty working on figuring out this work flow. I noticed that you mentioned "layer texture types" . Is it possible to have something like normal without any color/roughness in one layer and curvature detail like some edge worn on another layer? Thank you.
If you are adding a fill layer with a substance material, create a mask for this layer, add a Fill effect in it and use the same material in the mask channel, make sure to select the height channel in the Output Selection dropdown and add a level effect on top to control the blending.Make sure the Scale, Offset and all…
It was The Adventures of Batman and Robin for the Sega Genesis. I wasn't on GSA, unfortunately. Even an emulator that allowed layer separating would be fantastic. Some of the environment work I did would be totally obscured by foreground layers, and the boss character I did for the game was on his own layer. Do you know of…
