just looks like you used one tileable stone texture across it all. Maybe try and make it more custom and unique? sculpt some of those stone bricks to have some wear and age. everything is sharp and too blocky.
I'd keep them as subtools for the initial placements. Once you get something that can fill up most of your document, then drop it to the canvas so that you can pan/tile it and worry about filling in the remaining gaps with new bricks.
would be nice to be able to duplicate a group folder. would also really like a way to rotate a material so that wood grain, bricks or any patterns could match UV's If either of these are possible I haven't been able to figure it out.
Oh nice! Good topology! Nothing seems to be wasted! His face looks like he ran into a brick wall though XD. The front of the muzzle seems really flat and nearly like a pig snout in the side on. but other then that, it's great :D
Couple more updates! My dragon's textures are coming along. And! I finally managed to convince myself to get back to work on the exterior. So I have a desaturated red brick to add some contrast from all the gray tone.
Gonna try to fit this project back into my schedule. What do ya guys think about this new iteration of the brick texture? Tried to take into account what ya guys said without losing the sketchy look. NEW: <OLD
ok guys! thinking i'm getting to the end now, regarding the bricks and steps i'm not to bothered about them matching the concept. this is what i have now any further tweaks that need to be made can be done using and LUT strip.
question: have you ever seen the entrance to a mine sitting sideways on a hill, with a brick wall around the "base" of the entrance? no, you haven't. mine shafts move INTO the land, with the entrance aligned with the wall, your design just doesn't make sense =[
I'm wondering if there is anyway of 'drawing' ztool over and over again at the exact same size? I know I can use snapshot which does work but I'm looking to see if there's a better method. In particular I'm curious about this for tile able architectural textures (brick, stone, etc.)
Hi all, I'm following this brick tutorial by PhilipK, but when I use the layer brush with spray as he suggests, I am supposed to be getting this: http://www.philipk.net/tutorials/materials/tilesold/tilesold_01i.jpg, instead i get this: Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
