Thanks Obscura. So all those talks about how U5 is gonna be all hires models through keeping hires meshes in floating point images and no normal map necessary is not about vector displacement ?
Hi teodar23, thanks for your reply, I'm glad to hear that float geometry is ok as it does make my life easier as a beginner! Thanks for the tutorial recommendations, I will check them out.
Awesome work, especially with the updated lighting! I'd love to see some lightshafts or floating dust. Even some particles over the alchemy area would be super fun to see. Love the vibes regardless. <3
Very cool, feeling kind of bad for that one bat there haha. I do feel like the artifacts floating up to the top left kind of blend into the sky a bit. But other than that it's great! Keep it up :)
Alright I moved some controlling edges away from the corners as far as I could while maintaining the shape I want. I also gave a black material to everything thats floating geo
You could also try the floating panels trick. by Ralphie 'boyluya' Agenar. From the thread Firefall - Hard surface Art Dump More on our wiki here http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Subdivision_Surface_Modeling#Hard_Surfaces
i'd react the way i react now, because i've gotten these exact same crits. if you don't hear it, you'll be floating around on your ego, and you won't push yourself. its that simple.
looks awesome, floating an idea buy since its ww2 and more modern and there are bullet dents in the shield might justify him having a gunblade? instead of a reg sword. Imo the sword is holding the believabilty back
If you're in decent financial standing, they will accept you :D , just make the most of it and don't throw the money away! By that i mean if you choose to go to school, work hard and don't just expect to float by.
After discussion with the tutor from Digital Tutors it was discovered that Xtrees don't adhere completely to the terrain (will not follow the flow of the terrain). If there are a few trees floating they can be hidden behind closer vegetation and trees. Problem solved :)
