Yeah, it's not just an old thing, even now spaces are kind of a special case character that'll get you in trouble in most scripting languages and operating systems due to their tendency to break folder links, not to mention there's actually a bunch of different characters that look like spaces but aren't, further adding to…
I'm using vtools which alexk linked to. Works fine in cs4. Click quicksavePSDTGA and it will save a tga with the same name as the psd in the same directory. Only annoyance is that it opens the newly created tga up. I got fed up with changing action directories while working with multiple projects and folders.
This is a bug in Max 2017. I believe it's fixed in 2018. An Autodesk developer wrote this script for me to get the layers back. Place the script in the startup scripts folder, and then restart 3ds Max. Then open your organized file. Everytime you open a file it will make sure that all layers/objects are working.
ok, from comments under this video "DDO Painter: Color ID Primer pt.2" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45YCkPmTXnU I got this reply by Quixel: "Yes! In the /swatches folder you will find both an FBX containing all material swatches, and a Ps swatch file :)" The thread is solved! :)
I would have to agree with combining the Airbus, The hard surface work on it is exceptional but so is the final result. I think showing the process as a whole on one page would be a benefit. Also wanted to say I love your hero weapon, went in to my reference folder as soon as I saw it!
yea i saw some guidline and quality standards given to artist including lots of artist's renders, sometime including mine too and beside i always save cool stuff to my personal inspiration folder so be able to save pics from your port is very important imo
Nicely done so far. You have many smoothing errors, and please keep in mind that many pictures show clones and not original HK21/HK11. I worked myself on the HK21, which is a slightly different version of the HK11. I can upload my reference folder somewhere if you want.
k, i went over everything again, i exported the skin in wally to 8bit then converted it using wal2pcx then replaced that with the original in my model folder then i unlinked and linked again in Npherno's Skin Tool then i exported the model again in q2 modeler but i still got the same result.
I thought the Roadkill installer came with a readme saying where to install the MEL file? I think you put it just in the regular "My Documents/maya/scripts" folder. Also make sure you're not typing the command name wrongly, be aware that it is case sensitive so "myCmd" is not the same as "mycmd".
Thanks for suggestions guys. Somebody turned me on to a program called BeyondCompare which fits my needs almost perfectly. It's not a real version control, but basically automates identifying changes between folders and then can merge items as well. So for just backing up maya files mainly this is good for me.
