Looks great Chris. Great site and work man! Once you click on a scene it'd be great to just have the large shots on a page people can scroll down. Also dump the lightbox if you do that. No need. The site is a little slow for some reason. Watch the jpg file size. Smaller is good, but quality is important. It's a balancing…
I get a pop up add for hosting when I load the site might want to look into a different host as well. In general if you don't have the web design skills to make a good portfolio site its best to keep it simple. Some of the best portfolios are single pages with pretty basic html. some examples http://environmentartist.com/…
Yea the revised site looked MUCH better. I think you can keep the first site for applying to more web design based jobs but use the second one for 3d gigs. Your 3D stuff is actually really nice and I would love to see you add more to it if you end up going more towards an env artist role.
hello josh, excellent work. i ran into a bit of a navigation problem with your site. some of your thumbnails will open a new window to display an image while some thumbs, in the same category, will take you to that image directly. i completely closed out of your site four times before i gave up browsing it. keep designs…
Well to be honest there really isn't much to critique. You have very little on the site and most everything else isn't finished according to you. Perhaps you might want to look into how pictures are viewed, some like a completely new window to open when viewing images, but that isn't a hard and fast rule. Here's some good…
i found those quotes on like 6 sites and all sites with those names are either english with bad german parts in it or russian and as i don't speak russian i didn't understand what they are saying, so the word didn't make any sense to me, but what crazybutcher says makes sense, the Waffenprüfamt (sg.) would be something…
Awesome scene. The lighting effect on the ground is pretty badass. Are these all real-time renders? I went to the site you mentioned to check out the free shader, but after looking at the tutorial on the site I don't really understand how to implement that shader in maya. If you have the time could you PM me and maybe…
I agree, little bits and pieces scattered about to show the decay of the building would add to the mood that I think you're going for. The blockout looks pretty good so far, are you planning on adding that skylight/window thing like the first image as well? That opacity site is probably one of the best sites I've seen for…
What kind of a job are you looking for if you don't have 3d skills then? Would it be possible to just get a job as a stock person at Target/Walmart/Best Buy or something like that? Otherwise, I'd highly suggest checking with a contract house. For job searches, I like to use http://www.indeed.com or…
On a side note, even if you haven't dealt with building webpages (html, css etc.) it's not that hard to get into, if you want to save a buck as it sounds like you're going to buy a template. As long as everything is presented well the site can be very simple. This is a gold-mine for building sites anyway.…
