I'm not a big fan of the brick floor, actually. The bricks look good, but the overlay of the large cracks/irregularities is just too jarring and tiley. It's like a cross between some nicely designed/architectural bricks with a cracked mud. It just doesn't look like a logical combination. The cracks look huge, and don't…
thats much better, but there are still some tiling issues with the dirt on the bricks and the trim brick colours, also roof edge trim (sides) is bare and needs some loving
Jessica, i think coloring these bricks a dif color or tone would help a lot, at least separating the brick and the background cement(?) element. [disclaimer: just a dumb suggestion] :)
First thing that sticks out to me is the size of the bricks on the wall. Compared to your other bricks, they're very tiny. In general though, this is pretty good. I like.
Old Brick Wall Spent the last few days playing around with this brick material. 100 % Designer, rendered in Marmoset. Artstation post : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/qAB0X2
sweet sweet arts. Curious question about the brick wall in behind that first arch. Did you duplicate the bricks in Zbrush? Or did you just make 1 brick with 4 different sides and then copied them in max when you were ready to bake? Or some other completely awesome technique.
What can really make good work, is the details. Roofs aren't just tiled shingles, they have "border" shingles that run on the corners of the roofs. Houses aren't just bricks on bricks on bricks, usually they have some kind of concrete foundation at the bottom, etc. References are key here. Keep it up
Very nice. Just like to add to what Mr Bear said. You can see the texture seams in the bricks. Get them to tile better, and add some differentiation in the actual bricks. Maybe add some moss/grime where the bricks would meet the floor? Other than that it looks good. :)
If you don't mind hand painting it, it's easy to make a brick pattern. Just make one row of bricks, then clone it up one row (so that you have two rows). Then move the clone slightly to the right/left so that its grout lines fall at the mid point of each brick below.
Thanks for the reply icegodlfhungary. it is true that the bricks on the ground are a little larger compared to the bricks of the wall. And even compared to the character they are a little big. I'm going to scale the broken brick. Of course for now the level of wear is small because it still lacks a lot of things such,…
