Hey, I saw your alleyway scene on the weekly recap, and I thought it looked fantastic. The layout looked really familiar though, and I spent a good while trying to remember what it reminded me of. I finally found it! Did you take inspiration from Mikael Nellfors' "Path to Nowhere"…
tnx for the comments Ferg: yeah i might push the silhouette a bit more, but i'm always afraid of overdoing it. I think something halfway of what you did might be good. Roepetoepa : that's how boobs work! nah maybe in the end i'll squeeze them together a bit. or i'll add bones and just make them wobble all around the place…
Textures look great so far! I'm not sure how far along you are with this, but I would definitely start thinking about painting the lighting into the texture. Also, I would add a bit of color to your textures, they're looking pretty monochromatic. I just did a paintover for someone else as to how to add more color into your…
This looks nice for a first model! Congrats on finishing it. If you have time I would definitely go over the textures again. Add some wear to the medallions or whatever they are. Definitely give the skin some more love, it looks like you just did a solid color and AO. Skin has a lot of color variation due to sun light and…
I'm struggling with terrain too atm. i think you lack of resolution, on your mesh, and on your textures. The splatting mask is really blurry. I wonder btw, if some engines don't do some noise on splatting textures on the fly, to add precision. Also use decals to add some variety. I think u could play a bit with sandbox2 or…
And i would like to add that DDO relies on GOOD maps. If you put in crap normal and AO maps with overlapping UV´s the results will be absolutely crap. You really need to feed it good maps. Make a model with very little fine details in the normal map and DDO can´t figure out where to place that edge wear and grime you want.…
Yep, I just did exactly that. Installed it on my desktop this afternoon, and then on my laptop this evening. Once it's registered on your B.Net you should be able to download the client anytime you like, or use your original DVD. Another very nice feature is that it automatically syncs career progression. I did a couple of…
Because if the base topology is too low and there are large faces with no supporting geometry then the subd algorithm will be under too much tension and the creasing will show artifacting. I'm not saying you have to add control/support loops as you usually would with traditional subd modeling but, in a lot of cases you…
something else I did today... This was to condense a couple of buttons I made a while back. Originally I had a button to lock all transforms and a button to unlock all transforms. Name: Bigley_TransformLock_Toggle What it does: Toggles the transform locks on or off. macroScript Bigley_TransformLock_Toggle category:"Bigley"…
The current workflow in the Suite is to create your base maps with an engine preset that's close to the desired output. Once you've done that, add or remove maps within the main dDo window by clicking in the dropdown menu at the top right and select "Delete Active Map" or "Add New Map" and select the map you desire. You…
