Hey, maybe these can help. Lots of good stuff about hand-painted textures and the basics to get you started. A recorded texturing workshop by Jamin Shoulet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_GWVez_UHM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSFKEvH6ZJA
Finally got it working in the Steam Workshop. Created two separate skin packs, one for summer and one for winter. Summer Pack: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=622657458 Winter Pack: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=622629266
The Texture Workshop with Jamin Shoulet on YouTube helped me alot. He made textures for WoW:BC etc... You just need some time ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_GWVez_UHM (there are 2 Parts) Hope that helps :) Greetings from Germany
I love the execution and it looks pretty cool! I however don't think this is a skin for the requested Mil-Spec rarity due to it being very colorful. I would nonetheless upload it to the workshop because this is a great restricted/classified MP9!
It was released a little while back, but I also bought the whole Charles Hu Kit on anatomy from Gnomon. Its pretty awesome and would highly recommend it: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/999/Anatomy-Workshop%3A-Volume-One
man. i love those sketches you put up there. keen to see some more ( all ) of them for those not on the mailing list. there's a little vid of Andrew Jones playing with Alchemy at the Massive Black workshop in Shanghai here : http://al.chemy.org/
http://www.dota2.com/workshop/requirements top of that page has several links to good guides on how Valve does their textures. Looks like you might have baked AO, but no lightmaps. My guess is you're makin a banana stick
Mine? No, I haven't been able to work on anything in months for certain reasons. This just came to mind because of the stuff I've been seeing on the workshop and in threads lately. It just all seemed completely implausible based on the experience I've had.
Sweet ! Thanks for the info, Tully. Phenomenal work, btw :) And that link was freakin killer. I picked up Smellybug's Massive Black DVD at the Revelations workshop in Seattle back in January. I would recommend that as well to others interested in maquette sculpting.
Thanks guys. Just trying to develop my style a little further based on the stuff I picked up at the Massive Black/Concept Art.org workshop a few weeks ago. Hopefully, I'll get around to finishing up the texture. -caseyjones
