This sheds -some- light on how I created the hair for Samaritan demo. http://www.nvidia.com/content/PDF/GDC2011/Epic.pdf It's not quite female hair and I never did any tests with it. The anti aliasing for hair is only available in DX11. I also had to create a Custom Lighting material that was a lighting model kinda like…
Aaaaa such scale! Been following this for a while, just keeps getting bigger and better. Cannot wait for your breakdown, would you be able to do something that can be saved i.e. a PDF like in this thread http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124123? It would make mine and I'm sure someone else's day. Thanks and…
Because your pen is not in front of your eyes your linework is not 100% accurate. If you really want to go ahead and concept with wacom, you should try to draw with masses and shape instead of lines. IDK, it might just be me but wacom feel more confortable painting than drawing some lines. You should give it a try.
I found the solution, repeat after me: :poly142: So, DominantDirectionalLight Doesn't cut it? Your using an old build of UDK correct? They should still show Per-object dynamic shadows on non StaticMeshs. IDK, Maybe your on a lower quality level? Dynamic shadows work fine for me. As for the hatching, that has to do with the…
You might want to take a look at the weight and pose of the character as he lands, he lands gently and almost completly in an idle pose, it lacks the dramatic entrance. Look at a more heroic stance: [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddpi-wYDV9A[/ame] The speed at which he spins could also be faster for more of an…
really digging the style. but I feel like the sky and ground textures could use a little love? Possibly some more distanced mountains or some clouds. Its just such a large percentage of the picture ya know? Could be nice to bring in some more contrast, perhaps lower the tonemapper in post? Idk if you were still looking for…
Mine. Idk, if that is last screenshot, but it's close to final. @Fnitrox Awsome work! Thanks everyone for cirts. I changed or rather added more vegetations to scene :D . Overall it was very good learning experience, as I finally learned how to make tileable textures inside zbrush. Next step will be baking mat caps from…
Mmm, SFW porn. Here are a few that the folks at EPIC provided during the UDK days: https://udn.epicgames.com/Two/WorkflowAndModularity.html - provides some good information regarding pivot placement, and other modular techniques. https://udn.epicgames.com/Three/ModularLevelDesign.html - link to PDF article by Lee Perry,…
Well basically. Though I think the main problem might actually be me being reluctant to learn the proper techniques. I'm actually in a Computer Science course, so I have to spend hours in my free time watching and reading tutorials which can get tedious. Though perhaps I enjoy the sculpting more.. idk
lol the girl looks so scary(evil) in the straight render ;) 1st image. For some reason reminds me of a movie or show of some kind, idk y. Will check back for more texturing love, so far looks good, girl is fixed with textures unless you went back into it and corrected whatever it was making her scary looking.
