Yeah dude, i'm digging the detailing but the basic gesture that made it so joustawesome is missing. Eyes point outward, head flares out at the top in a boxlike shape, 'ears' arc down away from there -- your shapes are very static and pudgy right now. Push the outline! do it Joustice!
Most games use their own light-baking tool (or a 3rd party standalone tool) that creates the lightmap UVs automatically, so you don't have to run through Max's UV hoops. Someone talked about a method for just this issue not long ago, IIRC. A search might find it.
Yeah, if you we're already a RE licensee you could have gotten a discounted price on UE3, but chances are most developers that are using RE couldnt really even think about affording UE3 even at the reduced price(talking about a 10 fold difference in most cases iirc).
the ears look small and slightly low down, the pupils are to soft, make them have a harder edge to help define them and also consider softening the edge of the iris (it looks to hard). Its a good looking texture but the eyes really let down all that hard work. Good Stuff
The storyline sounds a bit like a pre apocalyptic Fallout - The Arc being the vaults, "salvation for some but not for all" and whatnot. Not to suggest that this is some prequel, just that they sound like they're coming from a similar standpoint. Any comment Splash gamage guys? You know you can trust us.

Just saw it. One of the best movies ive ever seen. Sci fi with a unique cinematic style, kickass story, proper character arc, the obvious social commentary......and no fkn space marines. Pure awesome. I'd happily trade 100 cans of cat food for that mech suit anyday.

Did you try inverting the green channel? 3ds Max can't properly render normal maps unless they were baked directly inside 3ds Max. And IIRC it can't show them correctly in the viewport no matter what. They're working on a fix, but I don't think it's out yet.
