gotcha. I thought you were suggesting using this technique with textures meant to tile both horizontally and vertically (without adding cuts), which is why I was confused.
It looks like you're wating a lot of polys on the low poly sphere wheel deally. Surely you don't need the chamfered tesselations around each of the wheels vertices?
woahh bizzare. it'll bet if you just scaled that whole thing vertically, except for the candles, it would not only match the concept more but be a lot more ascetically appealing.
It should also be mentioned that while, when using segmented models the overall "polygon count" will go down, your actual vertice count will be higher than with a single mesh
That seems rather like tellin an inquisitive kid not to go commiting suicide then sporadically telling them to cut vertically through the arteries. Though perhaps not quite as extreme.. maybe.
I'm using Zbrush just as I use it on my PC but on my Laptop it collapses the whole mesh into about 1 or 3 vertices. Ive checked in preferences and there all maxed.
Hey - Just working on a bit of a side project when I get the time at home. Need opinions on a set of thumbs I knocked up this evening. Going for a vertical profile - these thumbs are done as if looking head-on. Favourites? Cheers.
