Small update with a blockout I'm building in Max, its made to fit the grid in UDK. Its still very experimental, trying out shapes and different kinds of open spaces to reach a certain mood.
Did a blockout on the guy, not wasting any time I think i'll switch out some shapes, for instance, i'll try to make his mouth less comical and limbs that are a bit more buff.
Thanks guys! Lunch crunch! WIP of my rough zbrush blockout to hammer out the shapes/proportions. I will retopo this to define the edges, panels, and mechanical bits when I've got it all sorted.
one workflow would be to block out your mesh for proportions and size and the like, then if possible use that blockout to construct your high poly, and also as a base for your lowpoly. mileage may vary, of course ;)
Finished up a large portion of the interior today. Going to move onto the front end now and try to finish up most of this blockout by the end of the weekend. Here is what it looks like as a whole at the moment.
I really like the forms you've got going on already. Whats the blockout looking like from the front and have you give any thought as to how the driver sees where he's going?
Thanks quero, I appreciate the kind words. A more or less failed attempt: I'm not satisfied with the colours, didn't even bother with a proper finish. I think I'll redo this from the blockout stage.
Baby Arrived! Healthy little girl showed up on Saturday! Have the week off and already dug into my tower. Here is the blockout. Still need to model out the cameras and film equipment. But it's progress.
Ups, tried to open it up, came to a fetish webcam page xD Yeah, I wished it was around still, it had some great articles there, one that comes to mind is the one about the importance of blockouts.
ThnkKlinck and EQ - Thanks! Latest progress, bake cleaned up enough. Now onto color blockouts and Substance Designer 65k tris, 1 4096 map for the body, 1 2048 for the head. Toolbag2.
