Thanks guys! Have some more: I'll definitely add some transparency to the water later on; I've gotta model the lake and riverbeds for that, first. I think I've solved the clicking out of the window issue; apparently, I needed to lock the cursor to the center of the screen in addition to just hiding it, so look forward to…
That sucks. I hate to see someone's named aired like that just to get a scoop, and especially when it's confirming a handful of games that anyone could have expected would be along sooner or later anyway. *edit* On the other hand, her site landing page is written in Comic Sans. For this, no punishment can be severe enough.
Morrowind still hits the same for me even after all these years, especially with Tamriel Rebuilt. I've memorized the game long ago but it's still fun running along the bitter coast as a naked ex-convict argonian wielding a chitin spear and doped up on skooma. I'd play Diablo II: Lord of Destruction as well but the pixel…
Hiya guys! Super late to the party on this one, but I figured why not have a thread on it (Better late than never right?) Let's start out with where I am at now and a Link to the Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/contests/ancient-civilizations/challenges/19/submissions/16024#submission-update-59684 A video:…
Hey man, that's nice of you to offer the insights. However, take a look at the OP date. Your reply is coming along a year later. Maybe helpful for other new modelers coming across this topic, but likely the OP has moved on. Not to discourage you from posting, just to help you be aware of your intended audience.
Does this mean AMD users will stop be treated as second rate citizens as well? :P I'm curious as to why they are not going after license fee's, other companies did that, is AMD trying to push itself competitively (kinda like UDK was to UE4) as a precedence so later down the line, they have a userbase to extent into a…
I'll be adding a more reptilian vibe to the rest of the skin later. I'd like to combine attributes of a few different animals, having softer skin in some spots while a tougher more callous skin in others. Particularly near where the crystals are growing. Started tinkering with some skin plating in the lat area. Sort of…
So i posted the WIP highpoly of this a while back, here are the textures! I wanted to do a new asset from scratch using the metalness map workflow. I will likely do a more thorough writeup on the process at a later date. Diving helmet content for anyone who wants to have a look: Diving helmet zip
thomasp, the poly bevel in Maya 6 is a little better than previous versions, it lets you bevel negatively and a few other useful things, but it still has the same lameness that if you bevel a cube with 3 segments it doesn't draw edges between them so you have to manually fix up your bevels later.
yep i know exactly what you mean, and i will make a T shape piece at a later date my priority at the moment is getting the walls beefed up this is a concept i sketched for the left side of the wall (im not much of a concept artist but ive been trying to get better at it, looking at paul richards amongst others:
