They are tiers in rarity, and thus the highest rarities are generally reserved for the best looking designs for the most prized weapons. Covert is the Highest rarity, followed by classified, restricted and Mil-spec, with the last generally having less complicated/bright designs and less used weapons.
Here's a video of a stream from Bobo the Seal who worked on Darksiders 2, working on a weapon. http://www.livestream.com/vigilnights/video?clipId=pla_69d386b0-0c57-444a-a1e5-4c820a55e9d2 So pretty much a perfect and complete breakdown of how they made their weapons.
i was mostly going off the top of my head... USA MLRS, Humvees, M-113s, Avengers, Patriots EU land rovers, saracens, crotales it's also missing squad automatic weapons, shoulder-fired SAMs and light anti-tank weapons...
We are moving on to project 2 which consists of picking a concept weapon from a pretty good variety of images. 1000 tri limit. 512 textures. Here the concept that I have picked. If I'm not mistaken it is a High Elf weapon from Warhammer.
hey, really cool project, awesome to see the learning process just adding on to what michael has said, a few tips to make modeling go a little easier: you only need edges to define the silhouette. It can help to use flat shading in the viewport so that the only thing you can see is the silhouette. Orbit around the model…
Millenia has a tutorial on importing weapon models into Fallout: New Vegas (same engine.) [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npPI72o9Tm0"]Weapon creation tutorial - Optional 3 (Fallout: New Vegas conversion) - YouTube[/ame] I'm sure you'll find more on Youtube.
ok, here is another fun speculative theory for you Peanut :P those two guys were hired by NRA (financed by weapons manufacturers) and brain washed to carry out these acts to create more fear about security and government that would lead to more weapon sales.
Check out the work by Paul Richards (and maybe Joe Mad's Battle Chasers) and look at some of the weapon designs - You could definitely have this weapon, but maybe consider having the blade be more of a shaved / chiseled bone with it's connection points to the hilt being more natural and bumpy :)
So I committed this weapon on the Workshop and had some weird issues, would some of you guys mind seeing if you can see the weapon and secondly can you vote for it? I'd like to know if its bugged so I can delete it and re upload.
the metal looks pretty good, but the wood needs some work. Its good you have passion for modeling, but your weapon is too high poly. I would recommend looking at some tutorials for high to low poly baking, or weapon creation from scratch tutorials.
