Echo that, he does really great stuff! Also cool but bizarre this is for your mother, haha. I thought it'd be for you. Helps you as an artist tbh, learning how to paint irl and prep things. It's more enjoyable than 3D art to me these days.

Sure, height map, displacement, minor sculpting and general mucking about. This is for terrain made in Blender 3D but I've used this to produce all manner of 'terrain', inc what you're doing - that could be done in a day. [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhLuA5kpn2Y[/ame]
PatrickSF, i went for the angled look because i felt it looked more aggressive and more racer like. But yes, i would love to make the other one as a skin too! Btw, i'm a fan of your work, ARC level 5 looks sick!
iirc you're setting the wrong value: max near means how much DoF blur is allowed infront of the focus plane, Min is the minimum amount of blur MaxFar is the maximum blur behind the focus plane. Set MaxNear and MaxFar to 1.0 and set Min to 0 :)
Windows color management: https://pcmonitors.info/articles/using-icc-profiles-in-windows/ f.lux shouldn't interfere - although you may wish to try disabling it while working with DDO simply because it changes the monitor's display and can make it somewhat harder to author textures.
IIRC, that game used the Gamebryo engine, right? You should be able to use NifTools apps to view the files assuming you can get to them. If you can't, there's a forum out there that specializes in unwinding game archives; someone may have already solved that issue there.
I like the shape much better now, but still think the line is abit to hard near the top side of the boots, would like them more with a smoother arc from the side all the way over to the other side. Unless you intentionally want that line :)
Sketchfab Testing: model -New sand texture + a bit of displacement experiment -More tweaks to composition -Another rune+light color I got feeling that scene lacks some FX or more texture work on top arc, will do another pass on textures tomorrow!
