Nooo, you don't bake half a model, you offset one side uvs and bake the entire model. Extending the loop won't produce a correct result. Normal map generation is dependent of your mesh normals so they have to stand the same between generation and final model. I guess you coud bake half a model if you keep the middle edge… -

yah, turning that front lip into a tool for downforce would be pretty useful (and the way I think it would look would be pretty damn cool). Google Image up some race cars with front wings / downforce setups to see what they're doing (though those tend to be actual wings extending down and out.. so you've got a new approach… -
