it's worth stressing Gir's advice on the boots. Don't skimp and the boots will last you forever. My first pair of boots was a 60 pair from Target when I was 13, and within about a hundred miles of hikes they were falling apart. My next pair was a 130-150$ pair of skarpas when I was 15, and they're still in beautiful,…
When starting a creative project, one of the biggest needs is high-quality content. A great texture, a detailed 3D model, or a well-lit decal can take your work from average to amazing. That’s exactly where LotPixel comes in. Over 6,000 Assets – A Massive Library for Every Creator LotPixel offers over 6,000…
Hey Polycount, Wont bore you with the details of another life, long story short, really want to get in to modeling... from characters to environments to that little pink thing dangling at the back of our throats. Been using 3ds max for a year now but that means hogwash in terms of the amount sheer learning that still needs…

Can they get interactive feedback and quick playblasts of their work as they refine it? Also how does this complexity affect loading and saving times? Rendering times? CPU and RAM usage? All of these…
I would take what's been done before on the Necris theme with a grain of salt and try your best to put your own spin on what you think of when "Necris" is brought up. Generally speaking UT3 had horrible visual clarity in the end product and the Necris maps were one of the worst offenders of this so it might be better to…
If this was a 3rd person game and it was background detail, I might see if I could get away with hotspot texturing with decals for the labels. Wouldn't do that for a first person cockpit. For first person, I'd use a lot of geo to control the normals and shading for bevels and not try to bake that out.

You working stupid crunch again and not seeing your family AGAIN? your kids are growing up and already dating but you remember the last time you saw them they where still in…
