Spend a few more polys improving the silhouette on the coin thing and the blade. The lighting isn't that consistent on the blade itself. Highlights on one side, shadows on the other. Stay consistent and pay attention to the details! The handle could use something a bit more intricate instead of just flat wraps. Think of…
Hey! I just thought I would post up some screens of the finished version of this project. I was having some trouble with the colours so hopefully they came out alright! Otherwise I'll have to tackle it all when I'm not quite as tired! Anyways I hope you all like! Thats a wrap!! :)
take a look at those forearm muscles again, particularly where theywrap around the bicep. there's an un-natural shape happening at the bottom of the bicep because of the way you've sculpted them. remember that they start out at the bottom of the humerous, and wrap around and down the forarm... but your sculpt shows one of…
I don't know why, but I just can't wrap my head around weight painting. Building the skeleton and controls comes more naturally to me. I've tried in Maya and Blender, but I never get it looking good. My last attempt on this character was using edit mode, but I didn't see any improvement.
Hey @Mime, I'm a big fan of that wood style on the shield and the wraps on the sword are looking fantastic! Textures really look like they're coming along nicely, and I think the splash of yellow paint on the shield really helps the prop pop out further. Great work, man! Can't wait to see the final shots.
@pixelpatron Thanks mate! Here's the raw sculpt. Any critique is more than welcome. I feel that the worst part is definitely the fabric handle - I wanted it to look like it's been wrapped around the wood but I don't think it came out too great. The low poly should probably conform to the folds better too.
@Brian "Panda" Choi Sorry for the late response I had to go to work last night. (References) At first I was going to make a champagne bottle with the label and wrapping on it but I ran into problems with trying to make the foil at the top. I am still going to work on the champagne bottle I just need to think of other was…
Show an example of what are you trying to achieve exactly. But in general, large assets shouldn't be using unique texture because of the resolution limitations. Wrapping even a 4k texture on a 10m asset will never look high res. You could either split the mesh up into multiple materials, or consider tiling materials with…
@ilyaivanovart Cheers, appreciate that. New update from today. Mostly working on the water; painting the texture and tweaking the material. Also played about with the wisp and specs more, general small tweaks here and there. Need to start painting the grass and mud plane next. I will be updating this more regularly, as I…
The simple way I know is to do it like your current setup. The Head as a wrap for the eyebrow strip, which has paint effects follicles painted on to it. All you should need for eyebrows is to set the hairsystem's simulation mode to "static". The follicles follow the geometry + normals with nothing flying off, trying to…
