I was really enjoying it up until the first big fight scene where he takes on that small army it had its moments though, and the cg/creature work was amazing I loved when he first arrived there and met all the different species/learned how to walk
I've gone down and got an better shape ( i think). I've also worked on the shape and details of the tentacles to be closer to my vision of the creature. I'll finish the hand and do the skull tomorrow i guess. One more time any crits and comments are welcome ! Thanks guys !
Oh hell yeah art dump for this game. I know a few people over there at Santa Monica and they had a little gallery show at Gnomon with some of their sculpts a couple years back and they were super inspirational. It'd be so cool to work on some of those bosses and creatures :3
Cthulhu ia ia! Fhtagn! Blaaarrghh! Or however it goes ... I have deep, moist love for Call of Cthulhu first, and Lovecraft himself not far behind. Some of my first actually-pretty-good character models and animation were on Mythos creatures. I can't wait for this game!
Thanks, Joseph! Toned him down a bit (especially the hands), he's now looking better :) Also sculpted the head of a creature known as spinagon, a low rank demon from Baator. Just a quick rough sketch of what it's gonna look like. PS. Updated my journal.

I've bought a few gumroad tutorials on skin rendering because sometimes I just cant find what im looking for :/ Let me know if your tutorials any good.. im really interested in creature stuff myself as thats what i want to do next
Okay so looked for more reference to develop this creature.. I want Gorilla hands! Bear feet.. Echidna spikes moss with mushrooms on it's back.. barnacles on the side of it's thighs... maybe I am over-doing this design.. but here's a front view of what it's basically starting to look like:
Awesome news. I will let my boss know and will try it out when udim vertical limitation is off. =) As for the OBJ IIRC it comes from Mudbox as the modelers here are using it to sculpt all creatures, altho I loaded it fine in Maya to export a FBX. Hope that helps. Cheers!
