ohhh i dig it bryan. has a nice madmax/easy rider/escape from nyc, look to it. is nice! here's something from me. a golf field. just to pratice some texturing.
I must be really weird as I enjoyed crysis 2 a lot, after i got over the fact it wasn't a sandbox NYC. Looking forward to seeing what massive events they do in 3.
First time I saw them in NYC, one of the things that just struck me was who in their right mind would want to lick their PSP after having ridden around the city all day?
http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/nyc/51526837.html So many layers I don't know where to start. Be sure to read all the text. I was crying I was laughing so hard. The last picture is the best, and creepiest.
At first I thought sandy beach but once you mentioned the dirty ice, I can't unsee it. That is pretty much what dirty melting ice looks like here in NYC. Very slushy and crunchy.
The division is some pimp sh#t ! I've always been amazed at the art and the level of detail in these worlds. Realtime or not.. someone had to make all the stuff they've strewn about those messy NYC streets! :)
At this stage perhaps you can try doing a mock up of the skyline in general and for this type...try looking up metropolitan centers like the ones in NYC, Dubai etc where there are new sky rises in development

It has been a while :) went to NYC on holidays so here is everything in Unreal now. all uved and ready for materials :) Next first pass materials and morel lighting tweaks I need more general ambiance.
I appreciate that Pirax! And I agree that's a good idea for context. So I've been mainly applying for character artist positions. I live in NYC and I'd say 80-90% of the jobs I applied for are on the west coast.
