...not necessarily hating on an entire package, per se but the Max UI, can for me be a pain in the butt to handle occasionally, given that I'm a longtime Blenderite, so I think ADSK should take some hints and possibly pare back the mess of icons to a manageable level. Other than that it's a really cool hard surface program…
For lods, it would work, but only limited to static models, it will look terrible on deformable models, not matter the distance...unless you;re making Slenderman, in which case, kudos!
@ambelamba if you're interested in HS modeling workflows plus mech specific subject matter as well, then I'd highly recommend Aidy & Gleb's course for 2.8: https://blendermarket.com/products/hard-surface-modeling-in-blender ...which as a Blenderite modeller with 15yrs hobbyest and semi pro experience was certainly an eye…

Okay honestly this isn't that great. First of all the proportions of all your objects are all wrong. The room is way too big and the bed looks like it belongs to Slenderman and his wife. If I were to sit on that chair to do some work on my laptop my back would probably snap in less then twenty minutes. Also try to avoid…
Those are good choices you've listed, either one will meet your current needs. Though I'm more familiar with Gnomon, simply because I'd purchased a few DVD courses 4 or 6 years ago which were brilliant getting me further along the track progression wise that I had previously thought possible. Also Blender is great for…
In addition if you've an interest in realtime mechanical (weapons, mechs) hardsurface asset generation via a self teaching avenue working with Max then you really can't go past Tim Bergholz over on Gumroad: http://gumroad.com/timb I've personally completed a couple of his workthroughs basically from ref setup to modelling,…
