The creative people are artists, artists don't do math. Only programmers need it and they need the really nasty stuff. Quaternions, matrix transformations, etc.
Yeah will definitely need better designed legs, as it looks really unbalanced at the moment. Perhaps something like these (minus the Transformer parts) but with bigger feet. or

You can do a rats nest of polygons and edges, super tiny and chaotic but once normals are transferred it's perfectly ok usually .…
I just solved the problem. For anyone who has this issue. I forgot to freeze the transformations on all the objects. After doing so it fixed the issue.
