Could you post your UVs and the baked AO map? The jagginess is most likely from rotated UV islands, or at least edges on them that are not completely horizontal or vertical (no rotation). If you take care to align your UV islands better you should get rid of most of them. Another cause for the edge brightness could be UV…
I would try and do night lighting on this. Might work out pretty well, Soft light blue for the dominant light and then make some torches and scatter them around and use them to control the composition (or what ever lightsource you feel is applicable) This way you can do nice soft fill lights into the shadows to get them to…
I have a Retina display on my Mac Book Pro. End result? I zoom to 200% instead of 100% when I want to look at stuff at pixel level. That's the only time I notice it. Font is smoother too, I guess. Most images and content on the web render at 1080P resolution anyway. Really, with screen sizes this small, going to 4K vs…
Yeah, "deepening" is a terrible idea. A normal map is a data set, not just a visual map of information like a diffuse map, you can't just "increase the contrast" and have it work out. The colors on a tangent space normal map tell each pixel in what direction it should face, and uv orientation etc is taken into account…
Glad news, It's seams norton is accepting the exe now! I just tried it for a few minutes and realized it's kinda close to how nDo2 would convert photos to normal (I'm guessing here, but that's the feel I got). Dark pixels down, light pixels up. One great thing about crazybump is how it tries to match the lights direction…
Hey, nice to see you did a pretty nice job on your own. I wouldn't say it's a huge improvement over the copy-paste one yet, but it should be easy to improve it now. Corv's suggestion is a great one, and will make your texture much better suited for the psp's screensize, although there's a second element to that:…
it doesn't get any better than about 15/20cm per pixel even if you're buying it off Airbus - the difference is that the online services are all pretty heavily compressed. if you're drawing round these things you need to be conscious of the CRS that the data is displayed in - the further you get from the 'origin' of that,…
Really cute props! Korrax has some points regarding identity branding. I think that you could still use pixelgent but in someway consider to incorporate your own name into the design so your title is Willy "Pixelgent" Wilson, rather then just pixelgent. But the website name is catchy and definitly easy to remember!
Of course you can! I highlighted for you my long, non-square tile. Perfectly tiles as you see. You can do this Naughty Dog style: Here is Preview render: Best render with shadows: Here is the displacement alpha: Here is the Know-how: The creator of this super genius plugin is Marcus Civis: retired. Read below carefully,…
So the wood panel is something you want to sculpt (not the rest of the wall). You want to sculpt the bent corner with some detail and probably some other surface detail into the panel. but not have the ends be affected by either dynamesh or subdiv shrinking, you want the final geometry to be clean so it snaps up in engine.…
