Great work shadacer, really inspiring. I think I started my piece after looking at this a couple of days ago. Anyways for the crits. What jumped at me right away was the green divider. It almost comes off too blurry compared to the rest of the scene. Think about maybe not having that white wear in the middle and instead…
Every studio I have worked at, all developers used consumer grade hardware at the highest spec so we had highest common denominator for PC testing purposes. Doesn't make sense to make a game for a top end PC and not even be able to test the top end specs on your rig. That being said, I agree with all the comments about a…
Heya, these all look ok so far, but somethings you can change: Your Bench(?) has dark edges, when really they should be highlighted, even if its meant to look worn, the fresh wood inside the plank would be lighter then the outside as it hasn't any dirt on it. So lighten up those edges! The same goes for the stone blocks…
frankly i have never had normal map issues with unreal engine within the last 3 years (way before xnormal sync update) that i can remember. as long as i used the methods i mentioned above i had bakes that were pretty much exactly like the highpoly. what you are talking about has very little to do with the spec of 15k…
ya will try that and it helps alot. is there a similar function for AO in ndo, i was trying to at one point to pop in the whole group into my main psd into both the diffuse and the spec so i could tweak it for both but it got pretty sluggish having them in hte main psd so i had to go back to working with the AO in a…
Thanks guys! Appreciate the comments. @Rico: All of the assets you see except the tablesaw just have base colors applied. I haven't even started texturing them. The quikrete bags crazy spec is the product of fussing with the spec and gloss in the shader, so when I make the map, I'll make sure to tone it down. @Super Happy…
Thanks for the feedback fellas. I continued to tighten up all my spec maps and worked the lighting a bit more. I followed Shep's advice and brought a bit more color back in to it, but I still think i need to work with it more. I also pulled the camera in a bit more. Mr. Dekard: after I finished working on some specs it…
I agree with cholden about larger font for the resume. Right now its just a wall of tiny white text. A bit of formatting would help as well. I'm sure there are tons of resume writing sites around the web you can check out for examples. Also, definitely put any relevant internships/work at the top. I'd also recommend taking…
Render, you rock. I'm totally going to have to pitch this to the rest of the team and see what they think because this makes so much sense, especially the part about the clash between overlapping plates and extrusions. Chances are though that the design won't change just yet, but one can hope. I also like the subtle, yet…
The texture could use a lot of work, as right now it's just a random mess of red and white, without any hinting as to what either really is. You were probably going for red paint peeling off of metal, but that's not what it looks like. Paint doesn't just slowly blow away like sand, it peels off in chips, leaving sharp…
