Hi im new with modeling, im using Modo 801 only for some days (such noob) and know the basics. Im familiar with ZBrush (4r6) before, so topology was not as clean (easy) to maintain as you could in a regular 3D App like Modo. I have never retopologized something yet (im unsure in which way). As example, my first mesh i did…
Hello guys. I managed to recover the file. Here is how i did it and what caused it if you want to know for yourselves maybe. In my autoback folder of 3dsmax (my documents) there was a MaxBack.bak file. I never thought that would be the file... I changed .bak to .max and now i have my scene back :DDDD Also the reason why…
Hi, this is a good start! If you want to achieve realism I would highly recommend finding real life references that are interesting to you and trying to recreate them as closely as possible. In your image the door, wall, and floor are clearly just using one tiling material, and are lacking in detail. Where is the trim on…
At first I was skeptical, but now I like it a lot. Good work. Just one question: how did you add the glow to the sword? I did two Juggernaut swords and failed to make them glow.
Feedback on the Studio tool: I'm having a lot of difficulty accomplishing what I want to in this tool, which is: To blend various similar looking scans to create a larger (2x2 or 4x4) texture that doesn't have noticeable repeating patterns (most of the scans have very unique detail, which is cool, but it makes them…
Hi all, So I did this for the ArenaNet internship, but the part I did it for got cancelled. Instead of dropping it, I decided to finish it and add it to my portfolio. That said I would love to hear what you guys think and if you have any critiques do share. Thanks
Hi! Its looking better, really nice progress!. I think your fog is way too intense, its drowning out a lot of your details here. Its hard to find the right balance but I would say keep messing around with it, you want it to add to the overall composition of your environment, right now its taking away from what I thin is…
I'm not seeing problems with your ZIP. This is rendered with V-Ray viewport IPR. I did have to add a Smooth modifier and set it to Smoothing Group 1, just to get nice smooth normals. TurboSmooth is set to 3 iterations. This is in 3ds Max 2024.2.1, with V-Ray 6.20.02. WIndows 11 Home, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 64GB RAM.…
You don't need any additional software to convert to specular/gloss using DDO. :) Just use DDO's menu --> Add New Map --> Gloss. Repeat with Specular. Export to the target required and you're good to go.
