Hello there, I've recently reworked my portfolio site to try and simplify the layout and the content as I want the artwork to be the main focus. I thought it would make sense to get the polycount community to have a look and see if its lacking in areas (and to see if the content on there is good enough to showcase). The…
Hey everyone. I've been working in Russia for a long time and now I've decided to look for fulltime opportunities abroad. I've collected some of the works on the web and I'll be thankful for comments/critique: http://hundredsofsparrows.com/ttw/ Thanks! p.s. link to the site comes out from email with cover letter, the site…
I have been using and tweaking and adding to this site for a few months now. I figure that since i have seen other people post their sites up and receive good critiques I would post mine. It was constructed by a friend of mine and i added the visual elements and designed the layout. I would love to hear any critiques.…
Some great stuff here, I'd love to model some of your environments/weapons sometime. One crit, and this is in regards to the thread, you should update the first post with the link to the latest portfolio site. Don't make people hunt for the site you are working on now.
You really only want t put your best stuff up on your portfolio; it's fine to have a separate development site where you can post your work-in-progress stuff. On your main site, however, it's all about quality, not quantity.
These can both be merged into one link as you can find all my tutorials at my site. I'll be changing my site soon so I've set up a permanent redirect that will always point to my tutorials page. http://www.racer445.com/tutorials
Imgur is probably the best at the moment, large sizes, no compression, doesn't over spam ads. Also they tend to keep images hosted on the site a lot longer than imageshack and other sites, and they don't take stuff down if it gets too much traffic (like dropbox).
This is a year late, but a decent place for greebles/nurnies: http://www.badking.com.au/site/shop/industrial-custom-brushes/nurnies-brush-set-01/ http://www.badking.com.au/site/product-category/custom-brushes/industrial-custom-brushes/ Honestly, the whole BadKing overall is a useful resource.
This is not even a question to me.. Any out of the box portfolio site is just fine. Are you a web designer or a game artist? I'd use the time it would take you to make a portfolio SITE look better instead to make your actual work look better.
Yeah, you really need a new portfolio site. Flash-stuff loading, fancy gallery that is confusing, etc. The scrolling for the gallery is really annoying. No flash, straight to gallery. There are a bunch of threads about how to create folio-sites, you should check them out. :]
