taking a break is natural for sure, probably exactly what I would do. then again there is this mindset..... [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPqprN5nrJg"]Eric Thomas: How badly do you want it? [wimp.com] - YouTube[/ame]
Thanks a bunch @Synaesthesia nice and basic which is exactly what I need at this point. And thanks fur the map Eric. I'll download one of those once I get my full version of 3d max again.
Take a look at an article from Eric´s website: http://www.ericchadwick.com/examples/provost/byf1.html This will clear up why and when lod´s should be used. This is information you should probably always keep in mind.
Hi Eric, Thanks for the suggestion, it works for now as a bit of a work-around. some of the masks i were using were heavily modified rather than the smart masks, but it shouldn't take long to redo them i hope.
Eric, yes I do that, though I should be drawing more... Did you also learn how to draw by yourself? Here's few examples of work that some of the freshman did this first semester in Ringling college BTW:
Could you think of any possible reasons why my current curvature is not working? Would it just be the method of creation in the first place? I've only used the convert map tools from within nDo. Thanks eric
I think Eric is right, iteration is key. Often you'll find there isn't one answer or one way to do something, but a framework that will help you iterate quickly so you can get to the best possible combination.
I think I found that other post, doesn't enlighten me much, just the fact I can use F5 thru F8 to cycle the directions...thanks Eric,as normal . Doesn't solve the prob though. John
Hey therr, a little update.. This isnt really a texture feedback thread anymore :P Hope people dont mind. If you can dont hesitate to help me out. @ Eric, thanks got things moving again ;)
Thanks, Eric. The first one looks like what I want it to look like. I'm going to try the second method, but paint the bark diagonally. I'm gonna have problems unwrapping because my tree is complicated.
