Ok, these are good images :) From there I think that a good thing to do is to trace back where they are coming from - Right of the bat I am thinking FLCL and Frazetta ... So a good idea would be to read/watch some Fuliculi, and track a stream of Fire and Ice as well as Painting with Fire :)
This also can depend on the engine. Our engine at my work relies heavily on streaming and really large textures often presented issues with that. It's really a balancing act, you don't want your textures to be too big but you also don't want a huge number of small textures either.
Sounds cool. Is it all three games will be completed by the same Runner, but they'll have multiple runs going on? I agree AGDQ and SGDQ are awesome to watch. You guys can also check out http://www.speedrunslive.com/ and probably find someone streaming some classic game you're familiar with.
Hey everyone! I wanted to inform you all that my Twitch channel is up and I'm going to be streaming the game's development 30+ hours a week. So please feel free to drop in, hangout, and ask any questions you may have. Twitch Channel : http://www.twitch.tv/paperbagcrusher
Looks good but I can only dream about the poly count and texture VRAM that environment would use. I'm still having to heavily rely on repeating textures and low poly that console development requires and without any streaming tech so a whole level needs to fit into memory.
God damn... I JUST watched this movie last month on Netflix. I can't remember if it was streaming or DVD though. Good thing it's not in my last three movies I can still pick something out of my instant que for bedtime w/o blowing the rules
Awesome stuff, looks like you modeled quite a lot in there. (Love that it looks like you included the coffee maker apparatus) I agree with putting up some stills though, makes it easier to critique things like the texture work which is hard to get from a streamed video.
wow, I love the game and even further I love the ships! As I have always been interested in any kind of space scenes/ships, this game with it's beauty is the top of the mountain for me! Do you guys stream? I would love to follow such a ship creation step by step! :)
I was talking more about a short 30 second video to accompany a project (placed near the bottom of the images). I was fortunate enough to get a feature in in the Unreal Engine Project Showcase on their live stream back in 2014 and it definitely helped play a role in getting my first position in the industry.
