64 is still a very low light map resolution, especially for larger objects. A 64 light map would only be good for simple and small things like those lanterns or the small items on the bar. 128-512 is fine for larger and more complicated assets.
Your best bet is to use the offset tool in Photoshop set to 50% of the size of your texture, 64*64 if your texture is 128*128 for example. This will move the outer edges of the texture into the middle, so it's easy to see where you've got seam problems.
Besides checking to make sure you're running a 64-bit version of Windows, and a 64-bit version of photoshop, here are my settings that I use and some notes on them.
using 3ds max 2010 - 64 bit, on windows 7 64 bit keep getting "MAXscript rollout handler exception - unknown property: "checked" in undefined" any idea what might be going wrong here? (apologies if its something i've screwed up!)
IMO, it's not worth 64-bit with only 4gb of RAM, as you're dealing with the hassles of 64-bit for only a little bit more addressable RAM. If buying just 4gb, then go ahead and stick with WinXp32 and use the "3gb switch." (just a simple workaround, just Google it). :)
Quixel SUITE is not compatible with CS5 x86, as it's a native 64-bit program. It requires 64-bit versions of Photoshop to operate. You can try out a new version of Photoshop via Adobe Creative Cloud to see if a newer version of the software will function properly on your system.
and for 64 bit: just download a vista x64 image and register with you key, vista and win 7 keys work with both 32 and 64 bit versions and it depends on cpu if its supported by am2, for example phenom II = am3 and supported by am2+ dunno if am2 too
Yep i've bought it. On its way!!!! So happy. What operating system? XP 64? Vista 64 ? which one ? ultimate? Windows 7 beta build 7068 ? I want max render speeds really when using max/vray/maya/MR
That'd be fine for a DS game, though I'd still be inclined to add an extra poly to the turret to round it out. Give it a 64*64 texture with some razor sharp detail and you'll be laughin'.
installed both 64 and 32 bit version on my vista 64 machine and i didnt get past the load file. i load a file and then its just black. nothing shows up:(
