man.. first model i made was out of primitives.... then i ventured into doing a fancy scene with glass and a bottle... at the time i thought it looked amazing haha that was in 2004 i think. Then i made a spaceship.... OH! i found the first character, some funky robot hahaha good thread
Okay, here are some renders of both models posed. I know the robot itself doesn't look very posed but I tried to match it with the concept. Just let me know if the poses changed anything or put something in a place where it needs to be tweaked (lighting, textures, etc.). Thanks in advanced.
some progress... tomorrow I'll remake hair and also make pants ) and start making better harnesses ) and accessories then making robot hand and then bike ) then I'm gonna rig her and animate it.. I want to use this character to learn Unreal ) I'll ry to animate how she beats up this fellow )
A WIP robot for a school project, i will update as i get more on it.. @ etb342 - Im not sure about the wireframe render as i can't find any good tut on how to do it. If you know any, please let me know so i can post the picture for you. :) -Tobii
I sat and held his hand for three hours at the dealership. I probably drank twenty cups of water while talking to Bob the dealer about F-1 racing. All in all, seems like sweet little robot. If you swallow the key, you become some sort of cyborg.
This guy is awesome Justin, love the design and execution, the colors are great for directing your eye to his face without sacrificing interest anywhere on the character. Could totally see him tooting around on his jetpack, taunting the hero as he unleashes another giant robot against him. Ace work.
Thanks Mark.N! Unfortunately, from my understanding, wires and flats are considered source art, so I am going to have to hold off on those. :( @AE, enjoy the game! If you or anyone else is on an xbox, feel free to add me for some online robot violence in MP! Gamertag: SiDbEaSt
Been playing around with learning rigging. Nothing easier than rigging a robot :) Set up a bunch of connections and set driven keys so I can have just 1 controller transform this r2 unit from standing to walk ready. Not perfect but good if i need quick posing
I made these boxy style robots like 80's Transformers, Gobots, Gundam etc and im having trouble working out how to get Unity to work correctly as Humanoid Rigged characters, does anyone know if its possible to rig up mechanical joints that the Unity Humanoid IK system wont just ignore? https://youtu.be/Eo9sV-NJ2hw so far…
I was working on a character earlier but got fed up with it and decided I needed a break. I thought maybe going a new route and doing a robot of sorts might be fun, so a few nights ago I sat down and sketched out a rough concept of a beast. Here's what I have so far. Critiques are welcome. I'll try to upload a page or two…
