2: The specifics of the your renderer make a difference but if you're using a double sided material it's not going to backface-cull any geometry which means you're processing more than you can see and that's bad. for thin stuff - glass panes, cloth etc. its a good idea. otherwise, stick to a single sided material

Thanks for the link. Some of the stuff there is what I've been following, such as Manjiana's tutorial on baking a hair cap. :) Thanks to that, I have an ID and Root map. The only thing I don't have, which looks to be essential, is the flow map. I'm a little unsure about that one though. Regarding the masks/ids - I'm a…
Subscirbed for marmoset because of this update, have no prior experience with toolbag though everything looks pretty straightforward. Had to spend some time figuring why textures look downscaled and blurry compared to SP. Turned out had to import roughness in tga, and activate rgba for albedo. But have a problem now a…
Crazy idea here.... and bear with me, it could be cool. We are making "hats" for characters, wards and couriers, but latley ive seen a lot of sets with alternate styles. These normally sell for more and are more appealing to the players. Back when the greedoviles (sp?) were the couriers to have, I started to picture…

Editing this via the UT_Postprocess chain will give you these effects on all your other maps since It's local based in your UDK folder. Setting up your own chain (right click in package, create postprocess chain) will allow you to set up post fx…
This project was built as a deliberate learning challenge, pushing my skills in three specific areas: PBR texturing, real-time lighting with Lumen, and modular asset construction. The result is an abandoned industrial corridor where nature has slowly started winning the fight against concrete and steel. Visually inspired…
You need to check out Glen Patterson's tutorial for baking in Substance Painter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhoOHzoVReQ. It starts with ZBrush for the modeling and UVs but the rest of the process was very helpful to me learning (I am a noOb when it comes to SP and Marmoset). Using Glen's tutorial I was able to use…
Hi there ladies and gentleman! I'm new to the 3D in general, but I've made some progress in my free time over the last few years. I've found help here before and I'll try to find it again. My question is small I think and easy to answer, but because it is somehow specific, I can't find the right answer on youtube (or maybe…
