Looks great! The musculature on the arms (although pronounced) isn't jarring at all. The rings on the sword are a little weird. But what the hey, its fantasy. Real nice character.
Thanks man, the original concept from K.Thompson was only about the frontal part, so it is quite similar but all the rest I re-construct with my fantasy.
Update 04/27 1st vizdev pass for the vegetation. Starting to develop the color palette, and the style. I'll need to push the fantasy further, it's a bit too generic.
thanks guys- the armors integration is going to be wierd- I want it to feel like the armor, witch and demon are sort of melded together- you know, fantasy stuff.
There are side scrollers being made like this! The team that made Alien Hominid is now making a stylized fantasy beat-em-up that is similar to this, it's looking really sweet!
Yeah this seems like the solution. I took a closer look at Final Fantasy IV and noticed they used gradient decals for bright areas, as the one in the example image.
