I actually like both of those things. How does this relate to a day at the office, though? *edit* oh wait, unless you made this on a quiet day in the office. Otherwise it's great! :P
im newish to the bay area (california) and wondering what game companies are in the area. Id like to find an entry level position at a local game company while I learn what role I want to fill in the game industry. working on level and environment modelling at the moment. I can do anything needed. i mean that. literally.
There is an opening for a lighting artist here in the Bay Area. They are looking for someone with per-pixel or pre-rendered lighting experience. If you're interested send me screenshots (links or attachments) of some lit scenes. Resume wiouldbe nice too. rpatel-[at]-easel3d-[dot]-net -R
Thanks, I appreciate the support ! Quick comparison for a rendered cavity map (raytraced) from Xnormal and a generated one from Crazybump. Xnormal Raytraced cavity map : The output texture is best used as a "multiply" layer in photoshop on top of your color map. You can get very sharp cavity map with around 512 rays in…
You may just need to tile the UVs. Add a UVW Xform modifier, and increase the V Tile amount. Or, in the Sweep modifier, enable Real World Map Size. Check the Help file for more info about what this is.

Here's the unity package with the script - basically it consists of two scripts, CameraLocationTracker, (that caches the camera location both at runtime and in the editor *and a few other useful things)…
When I google "mental ray warp maya" the first result looks promising. It looks like a bit of a hassle though, and may not work. Have you discounted this already?
You should probably go to Metacritic and give it a 0/10. That seems to be the trend these days ;) This looks cute / fun, but I think I'll wait for it to come out on Blu-ray.
Good call, It may also be that I suck at rendering in maya and for some reason the DoF is super high be default. Anyone have any good tutorials for mental ray rendering in Maya?
