Yes, this. Under no circumstances should linear values be represented as 0-255, or 'hex'. Safe to record sRGB either way. @TangDao Thank you! The Gnomon video was super helpful, used a bunch of the techniques shown in it to revamp the lighting and get things up to snuff, much happier with where it's at now.
