Yep Autodesk got a hold of it when they bought Softimage, they quickly released it as a plug-in to people on 2010 subscription and then fully integrated and released it with 3dsmax 2011. -

Yes they do.... If you're a student, that's a reasonable price for the whole Design Premium Suite. And if you're a paid pro, Photoshop will pay for itself very quickly. -
