The vegetation looks a little off in contrast to the rest of the scene. I think you need to give them a more green-ish/yellow hue and desaturate them. Have a look at some desert references, colour pick from them and try them on your vegetation. -

Spin off environment from this main project that I am working on for a bit to try and focus on just rocks, vegetation including trees and Terrain. I really suck at vegetation and trees still and want to improve on my rocks too because they are getting better but not quite there yet. -

DDS is pretty standard for PC games, and DXT1 compression is a necessary evil for most of us, not just DICE. Also, check out this one from the wiki page Macattackk posted... Vig has totally a valid point here.The vegetation in the forest grows just over anything and you have a lotta moss and algae.This adds history to the environment.You will have full dry environment only in Egypt.Even Egypt had a lot of vegetation during their period i guess:) Vj -

Yeah, the actual brief says 2 types of vegetation, but my problem is what kind of vegetation would be seen as 'gothic' or at least would fit in with a gothic theme. The only other thing I could come up with, other than a dead tree, would be a pumpkin, but that's going to be just as hard. -

From what I can see there, you need to create a clear path for the player, at the moment the terrain is all blurry. Add vegetation, not just a few trees. The cryengine offers you the possibilty to create vivid forests with unique vegetations, so I suggest that you make use of that feature. -

Apart from that: Check for "use Terrain Color" in Vegetation tab :) It will help with the visuals on the vegetation… -
Slow Paced Adventure
Hey guys, here's my latest project. Just quick practice on lightning/atmosphere/vegetation. Took about 14 hours, sculpting the mushrooms in ZBrush (and baking to lower res mesh in Xnormal), modeling the vegetation in Max and PS for texturing and post-pro.
