Hi all, I'm getting a faint dark line where a poly would split into two tris. I have got all the vertices of the poly at identical height, yet still I see the line. Any thoughts?
Some things I noticed: The angle is really odd. Your lighting mainly seems to rely on an HDRI environment (of an empty office/industrial space?) rather than a studio setup. And if you did set lights, then the HDRI works against that. Some of the reflections seem to have little or no Fresnel falloff when facing the camera.…
Yes I see your points, the general composition I've decided on is that the spaceship crashed through the ceiling but not all the way so bits of it are hanging through a hole in the ceiling which is also where the lighting for the scene comes from. As for story, I've decided that the astronaut survived for a little while…
I'd take some images of painted surface and put them over the wood layer, probably 2 or more layers of different colored paint to really make it look worn and painted multiple times. First I'd marquee select each boards worth of wood and flip it so that the paint pattern doesn't continue from one board to the next. Then…
Hi guys, working on a Steampunk gun for my University's weekly modelling challenge. I am trying to create circular insets on this bent shape. However i get these horrible pinches eitherway I try to model the cylinders in. As you can see I have tried two different methods, but both result in pinching. Any ideas Polycount…
Hey, I'm working on a vintage pilot who flies a WW1 Fokker DR1 tri-plane and I'm just at a loss on what I could do with her outfit that would be cool. I'm trying for a vintage, yet unique type of feel. I know you guys have some awesome concept artists on here and thought I'd ask for advice!
Hi everyone! My name is Marwan, I’m an Environment Artist and Co-founder of Remesh Games. As an Environment Artist, I’ve always found it annoying to "pollute" my scene just to check an asset. Dragging a mesh into the hierarchy just to see its stats or animations—and then having to clean it up—is a waste of time. To fix…
Hallo Recently i wanted to give myself a challenge and make a small scene within 7 days. I started modeling 1.5y ago so i really appreciate real critiques and tips for future improvements. It would be wiser to join polygon earlier to improve my techniques but better "late" than never. Made in: 3Ds max Headus Uv Layout…
Yeah there was a lot of dirty tricks, sometimes baked lighting was added to textures, sometimes it roughly matched the ambient lighting of the games. Often times photo textures had no strong directional lighting, but they did align the lighting that did exist to the scene so it looked more natural.
