I think something that would be kind of cool and semi-achievable would be that Trial of Champions dungeon in WoW. For people who don't know. It's one arena. Circle shaped. There are enemies lined around the outer part of the arena. They are not attackable, they take their turns. All players jump on their horses and joust…
I used this plugin for making a racing track, you create one short block in the X-axis then, assign it as a object, draw a curve and click "deform object along path" which will duplicate and snap the segments using a FFD deformer. http://www.creativecrash.com/script/duplicate-along-path I have bookmarked somewhere several…
I don't know.. I keep my Bend/FFD/Shell/QuadChamfer/??? modifiers around for ages. It'd be hard to do without (though I guess one needs to let go of the past at some point, yeah? ;) )
There's always this script; http://www.mariussilaghi.com/products/smooth-edges Or select the loop and use FFD modifiers...not quite the same feel though..maybe hiding verts not in the loop will freeze them?
I'll bite. Remember when JRPGs were actually bad ass in the 90s? I lost my 4th disc to this game so i could never finish it.. ..and Actually I remember I lost my second disc to Xenogears so i could never finish it. I was at the last boss. AND I LOST MY MEMORY CARD When I was at the last dungeon in FFVI. Man.. What a…

the texture filtering looks awkward, and i've never been a fan of that myself. Notice that the model from the game doesn't actually have a texture, it's all just vertex shading (I believe) with textured on eyes. SO far, it seems as though your texture is mostly eyes so perhaps this approach would suit your model best as…
[NOV 6 2014]: Update 4 Hi guys, it's been a while! Thank you all for your feedback, it was very, very useful! Here's my update: I worked on the silhouette as you guys suggested, added more details and that badass glove and pauldron that Riven has. I made the design asymmetrical, which is something I wanted to do, and I…
Welcome to 3D work, it takes practice but its fun. I would ask what kind of reference are you using? Even if you are making the designs up, it's good to have reference to help ground your designs in reality. Or you can start by picking some sword designs that you like and recreate them to help you get a better grasp of the…
