From here right? http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/autodesk-3ds-max/how-to-create-a-video-game-dumpster-the-complete-current-gen-workflow/ Looks awesome, better than the original in my opinion, especially your texture work. It looks more real.
Don't get me wrong, physique stills works, and in some ways is better than skin, but it's not being actively developed by Autodesk and most newer game engines don't support it. So it's in your own best interest to at least know how to use skin.
and so did I using blenders AO baking abilities, the nice thing for me was that I could just copy the application folder to another computer and have that one bake the 8k texture while continue working with the others. Can't do that with Autodesk software :)
No, It's a problem with Windows XP SP2, they changed something with activeX security. There was a fix for it from Discreet (we had this problem at my last employer, Max5 FFS!), you can probably find it somewhere on the Discreet/Autodesk site; he'll have to do some searching.

considering the other siggraph thread is just crying about companies marketing, i thought i would make a real one just to see if anyone is going. clone wars is playing in the electronic theather, might check it out. i will be there tomorrow participating in the Autodesk Games Advisory Council. anyone else going?
I can't seem to figure out how to get the option to set objects to origin on export and export the models individually in Maya LT 2016. The documentation for the game exporter doesn't even match how mine looks. Here is Autodesks documentation.
Seems like Autodesk is full gear on Mudbox, hope the rest follow suit. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=17237552&linkID=11937426 What has been fixed: Full list here: http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/mudbox_2012_sp2_release_notes.pdf
Hello Polycount. I'm new to modeling and I was just wondering where would a good place to start be. I have Autodesk 3ds and there are some tutorials but I can't seem to get them to work. I have no formal training, or any training at all for that matter. Where would be a good place to start and learn?
Cool stuff, glad they implemented POM in now and GI and SSAO :) + Autodesk integration, and many more. - [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDrlSmzPBss&list=HL1330024710&feature=mh_lolz"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDrlSmzPBss&list=HL1330024710&feature=mh_lolz[/ame] Get the update @ www.crydev.net
