Thanks for the feedback xzulian. I agree the pose isn't very dynamic, the main reason was I just wanted a relaxed pose the show of the model so everything can be seen. But I will look into doing some extra renders with alternate poses :)
Keep your work space clean and go for walks if you're inclined to stay inside. ALWAYS stick to work hours. If working at home and you haven't got it done by 6pm, stop and close your work and relax, do it in time tomorrow.
You don't need a complex unwrap on planar models like this. Just planar uvs and relaxing may work. This may also help you in many ways: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1187593&postcount=14 good luck
Seems like you just used 'planar' on some of those pieces and called it done... You should look into the Relax tool to fix that. If you crank up the iteration and amount settings, it's quite capable of unfolding relatively complex stuff too.
Hi! I took a short break from sculpting to get fresh eyes. I blocked in his wires today which still need cleaned up more. Watched some shows to relax today. ;) Back to continuing to push and improve.
Relax won't change anything, unless you have overlaps or double faces or some other pathological (to the baker) situation. Are you hiding all the faces of the low-poly object in its sub-object mode? MR requires this for proper baking.
A lot of times for organic things, I use peltmapping. The above poster is right, the less seams the better. I usually just pelt map and use the relax tool, then push/pull verts in areas where there might be overlapping/stretched uvs.
The bean, normally used for gestures, is used to show movement and twist in the torso. For a bind-pose that's not always a good idea. Make sure your neutral stance looks relaxed and natural, you can let the rig take care of the bean shape.
I ordered it. Hope it arrives on time, but prolly not :/ Should've ordered sooner then saturday. Hey and Winterlord, is it really true, you can't get extra killstreak awards with killstreaks themselves? That's interesting, should make playing online a bit more relaxed.
I think you might need to take the pelt seem all the way down the middle. Or separate the part that is pinched right now, and stamp it down by itself. Then try using the relax tool. It seems poly heavy. What is this going to be used for ?
