it's unusual to see someone doing a sculpt that is the opposite to looking like a giant blob monster,, i think maybe a bit too hard edged. allmost looking a little robotic between the shoulders and the chest. but overall, great sculpt :)
I'm working on finishing up work on my site atm. The next project is making the low poly of Square from Ashley Wood's World War Robot. The plan is to texture him like the oil paintings that Wood is known for
Muzz! I'd love to know what material you used on these robots, very interesting look. Jay, any chance to get a link to the reference you used for the helmet boob girl? Wishing courage to your friend Bart
Gundam is the new Dragonball. Your model has a nice sense of scale. I'm not sure exactly what it is about it, but it feels more like a big robot and less like a toy than most of the other models I've seen.
I'm not sure I do, an escape can be shown in many ways. It was meant to be about people escaping the blizzard and remain a beautiful scene. I don't think you have to shove robots and things in a scene to make it interesting.
I really think you should replace or remove this image of the robots from your promo stuff. It looks like it was resized improperly and it makes a bad first impression. The new stuff you posted looks much better.
You've got cool ideas, now its time to execute them properly. You need to focus more on anticipation and follow through. Try to over-exaggerate the motion, it will help you sell it more and makes it less robotic...
Justin, have you tried distracting the guards with turrets and mechs? I like to pick off enemies using the rifle when they're busy dealing with a hulking robot shooting at them. That was the closest I got to a Arnold run.
nice work swizzle - on suggestion though - if you can 'afford' the tris - maybe make the 'eyes' on the rails on separate planes - some they can move up an down..or not nice work anyway- like the ashley popbot/robot inspiration
For a critique of the messy room, I'd say that everything is too aligned to their axes. Rotate the bed and desk and stereo a little and it'll feel more natural. For the robot, i'd say the head looks a little long perhaps if it is meant to be humanoid?
