As far as I know, the main thing holding Canada and the US back from getting fibre internet is $$$. Smaller countries have had fibre optic internet for some time now, but the US and Canada never have simply because of the shear cost to install all that cable across the countries. Hopefully Google can eventually get this…
Hell yeah thanks KB. I manage to tweak my scenes settings to regain the colors with linear and it does just feel nicer to load assets into it now. I had another try and the rock faces, seeing as i want to get my surrounding core geo down asap. I feel like i can get out of this blobby phase with Sculptris, no matter what i…
I've been doing 3d for such a long time it just started to become boring to me, this was the last thing I made that was a high poly character: http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/229/8/3/yuri_character_sculpt_by_frell262-d46vx32.png I still really like hand painting low poly characters but that's so cliche its probably…
He's graduating with this quality of work? I also have to say, with all the pointers and excellent artist's tips and individual attention you were getting, and your seriously lackadaisical attitude towards critique, you piss me off. It's hard enough to jump into a new realm of art, like characters, and even harder to get…
Jelmer is speechless though. Who cares about the directing and acting, when you got ILM and Mill giving you these B E A T I F U L images on a huge ass screen. I loved every second of this movie, and can't recall any movie where I was sucked into as much as with this one. Big props for the set dressers and post production…
Looking to hire an experienced 3D character artist for a fixed-price commission. US-based only. The deliverable is a production-quality Character Creator 5 (CC5) character built on the HD facial profile — 262 blendshapes intact through UE5 export via Auto Setup 2.01. The character is a semi-realistic stylized human female…
Hi! Thanks a lot for reaching out and the great proposal :) ! I'm a big fan of visual guidance, so I think it's a great idea. While it might actually be possible from a technical perspective, the script would be fairly slow and the association between name and color would be very challenging from an UX perspective.…
Hey fellas, a couple of weeks ago I got myself a new graphics card - a 7600GS. Since then, it's been screwing up my realtime display when I apply normals to any of my meshes. The image attached shows an example. The rendered version is fine, but I want to view it in the viewport, but that gets completely screwed up as soon…
espn is broadcasting fifa 10 in 3d w t f a sport in 3d? that can't be the most entertaining thing to watch i don't think. especially one such as football. maybe golf or something less paced, and a more consistent focal point i'm neither for nor against the whole 3d thing. ill watch a movie once in a while in 3d, if i feel…
Good thread! It's always interesting to see head-to-head comparison. So do you want to complete one scene in three engines? Or you want to choose one of them and finish the scene in one engine only? Main difference between engines for me: 1. You have to f**ck with light maps:) 2. You don't have to. Second variant is better…
