Ok maybe I should explain the gameplay a bit: Player can move block-rows and block-columns whenever there is at least one adjacent block connected to the row/column. Player solves levels by flicking the first/last blocks of the rows/columns to the corresponding knobs. About the "weird lines": I thought that they would show…
Massively multiplayer, Justin. As in, having over hundreds or maybe thousands of players per server. I'd say a 100 player server shouldn't be called an MMO. That's very borderline to me. But I guess if it's got persistant character development and an open world, that might help tip the scale. CoD4 has no character…
what noren said, i'd just morph this flat, using the animation options in your application, make 1 "hex" object probably use the array option in the application and "bake that down to a normals" map, overlay it on your completed normals map as a new layer overlaying the old with the new hex & rebaking what you need to…
Cool idea for a portfolio piece, and you’re smart to worry about shots this early – the island itself can be great, but if the cameras are weak, all that work gets lost. A few concrete things you can try: * Pick one main story angle. For example: “approaching the hostile shore”. Place the camera low on the waterline,…
I circled everything that looks like it could be overlapped. The top and bottom could also because you have to think about how the player will see the prop. If it does not move and ill never be flipped the player wont see it. So it wont matter if the bottom has the cylinder on it because the player would never know.
Hi guys! I'm working on a project that I would love to see all the way through. I have always wanted to work for Bethesda Studios, which is why I have been asking artists who work there or have worked in similar environments, about portfolio work, what I should be working on etc. Here are my goals: 1. Create a player home…
Affinity Photo /designer lacks an ability to work with packed RGBA files .If alpha is zero Affinity opens it as a black hole in RGB channels. Also I miss pattern preview from Photoshop . You can construct the same in Designer using symbols. But it would be a mess of layers . Brushes and layer system are both more advanced…
With curated content you get to pack your entire budget into what you know the player will be looking at. It is a much tighter scope and allows you to pack all of the tricks into that specific scene. You can imply a lot of detail outside of the playable area because players will never get there during that session. You…

I stopped lurking on these forums just to reply to this lol. The point biggest point I caught onto from Jesse's presentation, was the untapped potential of these unexpected games he mentions. I believe most of the gaming community's voice to this day isn't heard. Sure we hear about the main platform games, Assassin's Creed…
